Campbell, D

First entry in Godwin diary (1788-1836 only):
Friday, 8 February, 1799

D Campbell 8.2.1799 at King's / 26.10.1799 again / 29.12.1799 Campbells at Lanesborough's / 19.1.1800 again / 16.3.1800 mrs Campbell at King's / 4.4.1802 again
Perhaps Donald Campbell DNB 1751-1804 whose will PCC 1804 dated 5.5.1804 mentioned his reputed son William aged 2 or 3 years and Augusta Kendall, probably the mother. His legitimate son Frederick William is also in DNB 1782-1846 so could have been included in the plural Campbells as well as his mother Mary whose dates are not given in DNB

Hardkus

First entry in Godwin diary (1788-1836 only):
Saturday, 27 October, 1798

Hardkus 27.10.1798 at John King's
Careful examination of Godwin's manuscript diary suggests this may have been Hardkers. I've found no instances of the name Hardkus in any sources but the name Hardker can be found occasionally in the north of England and in USA, possibly a variant of Hardaker. But I've not found any person of that name who might have been referred to here, in the plural.
