See John Robinson Cooper, from whose indenture this must be John Dorset, perhaps elder brother to banker George, who is mentioned by Charlotte Smith whose sister married their cousin (Abinger c.16 f12-13). He is also featured in two of Elizabeth Cooper's letters (Abinger c.2 f7-8 and c.4 f3) and one of Thomas Cooper's (Abinger c.2 f84-6).

Currently 30/7/2012 in Godwin Diary website the name is not underlined but the Person Record is empty

Likely to have been the sister of Charlotte Smith (DNB 1749-1806) Catherine Anne Dorset (DNB bapt 1753- died after 1815) who married Michael Dorset in 1779. Godwin didn't show in his diary whether callers had called together but her niece miss C M Smith (see Smith, miss) was mentioned on all three 1807 occasions. Mrs Dorset was a children's writer and her 1807 poem The Peacock 'at home' was illustrated by Godwin's friend William Mulready The DNB knows nothing of her death but she was probably the Catherine Anne Dorset buried Chichester Cathedral Close 3.10.1835 age 85
