This was possibly William Gell DNB 1777-1836. Godwin noted on 1.12.1830 reading his 1804 book on Troy / Anthony Gell (will PCC 15.4.1817) of Little Cloisters, Westminster-abbey, was coroner for Westminster until his death, when he was suceeded by (his son?) John Henry Gell, who in Holdens 1811 directory lived at Cheyne-walk Westmr / Thomas Gell grocer SunFire 1794 393 Oxford-st. / James Gell coal merchant SunFire 1797 6 Sackville-st Piccadilly / Richard Gell  cordwainer 52 King-st Westmr Coroners jury 1799 / Thomas Gell broker of Ratcliff will PCC 29.10.1839
