David Rivers dissenting minister of a small congregation at Highgate (p 202 Literary Memoirs of Living Authors 1798 - of which he is supposed to have been the author, and which is not sympathetic to Godwin) and had a principal share in conducting the Sunday Reformer and Sunday Recorder newspapers, was frequent correspondent in the World newspaper as Marcus Antoninus. According to the Surman Index he was born 1767 and was minister at Little St Helens from 1794. If he was Godwin's contact the subject was probably newspapers if A Scott was concerned in the Edinburgh Gazeteer
