Probably the barrister and equity draftsman John Whishaw 1765-1840 , later known as "the Pope of Holland House", a Whig fixer and executor of Samuel Romilly's will in 1818. His letters are much quoted in History of Parliament but there seems to be no biographical notice of him in any reference works but I found something on the net at www.turtlebunbury.com and a book "The Pope of Holland House" by Lady Seymour (1906). John Tweddell, Thomas Malthus and Samuel Romilly were among his friends from the 1790s (Seymour p22). His presence at Tooke's was not entirely characteristic of his Whiggish rather than radical politics, but not much is known of his life at that period.
