Heaton Wilkes brother of the more famous John, malt distiller went bankrupt 1779 from financing his brother then inherited from their mother 1781; coal merchant 1783-91, died 19.12.1803 age 76 (newspapers & directories). In PCC wills there is also a Hope Wilkes 1803 and a Henry Wilkes 1805
