William Waterhouse at the Swan with Two Necks Lad Lane, London was a stagecoach proprietor (Morning Chronicle 24.11.1800, Holdens 1811, Caledonian Mercury 24.8.1818). John Waterhouse of Ipswich was presumably his relation and was named in a newspaper of 1807 as the victim of a theft, and in 1826 as selling off "superspeed" horses that had served on the Norwich Mail & Yarmouth Telegraph.
