Godwin wrote to several booksellers outside London that morning. For some reason Spence has not been tagged on GD website to a person, either identified or not. Possibles from bbti : Robert Spence bookseller High Ousegate, York 1778 to 1810, & with William Spence, Pavement, York 1809 / John Spence bookseller Briggate Leeds 1804 to 1810

Claudius Chervet and James Fletcher merchants of Walbrook bankrupt 1806 (Nat Arch B3/846); Fletcher fled to Lisbon (Nat Arch HO42/81/133), Chervet gained his certificate early in 1807. Chervet v. Mercier Chancery bill 1810 (Nat Arch C13/515/15). Claudius Chervet & Charles Mercier printers Bartholomew-close bankrupt 1811. Claudius Chervet married Catherine Jones at Shoreditch in 1789 and their son Claudius was born 1790 but he was probably too young to have been Mercier's partner.In 1818 Chervet lived at Hunter-st, Brunswick-sq (Old Bailey Chervat)

Probably John Harris, son of John Turner Harris (will PCC 1798). studied Homerton Academy, dissenting minister at Aylesbury 1777-1815, married 28.11.1777 at Holborn, Mary dau of Dr James Watson 1713-1783, died 1.12.1829 in London age 75 (will PCC 1830)

Thomas Prattent engraver 48 Cloth Fair, Smithfield (bbti). He took as apprentice 1786 engraver of St Bartholomew the Great Joseph Crane premium 12gns. He married by licence 1787 Ann Graves. There was a T Prattent prisoner for debt in the Marshalsea 1804. He advertised an engraving of Daniel's Life Preserver (Public Ledger 15.11.1806). It was probably him that died in 1841 at Clerkenwell Close age 77, and his widow Ann who died 1846 in Jerusalem Court Clerkenwell age 82
