From Law Lists directories and newspapers, Robert George Smith solicitor of New Inn, he died 15.3.1880 age 75 (Standard 20.3.1880) and his widow Lucinda died 1882. Robert George baptised at St Clement Danes son of Robert & Christiana Smith 3.3.1805 born 31.8.1804. It was presumably his father Robert that Godwin saw.
