William Thomas Annis painter exhibited landscapes at the Royal Academy 1799-1800 from 46 Poland St, 1801 from 47 Poland St, 1802 & 1806 from Church Row Hampstead, !810-11 from High St Hampstead. He published in 1802 a mezzotint engraving by himself after John Opie of Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin so was more likely Godwin's Annis than John Annis (below). He married Ann Day 2.7.1803 at St Pancras and their daughter Margaret born 26.7.1804 was baptised 15.2.1822 at Cross St Swedenborgian chapel, Hatton Garden. A William Annis of Belicourt Pl was buried 13.4.1825 age 53 at St James Clerkenwell.
John Annis painter exhibited Royal Academy 1796 from 27 Berwick St, 1797 from 21 Warwick St, 1798-1800 from 13 Little Titchfield St. He was buried 23.11.1838 at St Marylebone age 62 of Little Titchfield St and his son John William Annis continued to live as a plumber at 13 Little Titchfield St in the censuses of 1851, 1861 and 1871, though he was declared bankrupt in 1864. John Annis had married Elizabeth Boyes 30.3.1799 at St Marylebone, his children Elizabeth Morrell bapt 1800 married 25.8.1821 William Butler Guy of Hurley, Berks, George William bapt 1803, Mary Matilda born c 1805 unmarried governess in 1861 census, John William bapt 10.2.1807 & Charlotte Emma bapt 28.3.1815 when her father's occupation was given as Trade (all these bapts at St Marylebone), she married 2.12.1840 All Saints Langham Pl Charles George Daniels, father's occupation plumber. The album of Charissima Emma Annis 13 Little Titchfield St is in Westminster Archives (Acc 1396) with material relating to Carlo Giorgio Danieli, picture restorer and artist of 81 Newman St.. John Annis' wife Elizabeth was buried 25.4.1850 at St Marylebone age 74 of Little Titchfield St
