Jeremiah Batley of Chapel St bedford Row proposed Socy of Const Info 12.7.1782 by James martin 2nded John Jebb. John Lodge Batley proposed 18.6.1784 by James Martin 2nded Richard Brocklesby

John Lodge Batley bapt 1.6.1762 St Saviour Denmark Park, Surrey son of Jeremiah, gent & Mary, matric 27.1.1780 age 18 at Merton College Oxford, BA 1784, admitted Lincolns Inn 1777 son of Jeremiah of St Margaret Westminster, 1789 Revolution Society committee of 60 Lambs Conduit St, will PCC 1820 of Masham, Yorks, or his father Jeremiah Batley probably bapt Halifax 12.2.1728 son of John (who was brother of Jeremiah Batley London bookseller d.1737), his brother John bapt Halifax 16.3.1726 died 1782 his will PCC 1782 of Grays Inn left real estate in Yorkshire to his nephew John Lodge Batley. Jeremiah published 1783 Two Letters on Parliamentary Representation died 20.10.1810 at Masham, formerly of Bull Close, Halifax, will PCC 1810 of St George the Martyr (Sun F 1783 corner of Chapel St and Lambs Conduit St), probably the Jeremiah Batley of Kensington who voted 1774 for Mountmorris & Mahon (the Wilkeite candidates) but take care because there were several Jeremiah Batleys in London.

I found no Irish connection for the above family but there was a Thomas Cadey Battley of Willbrook, co. Dublin c1768 - 21.9.1851 (bur 23.9.1851 Clontarf) who married 16.2.1798 Arabella (born 1777) only dau of Rev Richard Capel Grange 1736-1779 and his wife Mary (nee Rochfort). Godwin met a Grange on the Holyhead coach on 1.7.1800 and 3 Granges appeared right after Batley on 6.7.1800, right before him was Sir John D'Oyley who was married to a Rochfort (see Grange, and Doyley, John)
