John Giles Christian proctor & notary 19 Great Knightrider-st, Doctors Commons (Holdens directory 1811) and Richard Hope 9 Great Knightrider-st, Doctors Commons (Post Office directory 1819). Christian's wife died age 57 in 1815 at Smallberry-green, nr Hounslow and he died there in 1822 aged 61.In his will PCC 1823 after excusing himself from leaving anything to his sister or nephew as they were well off, he left everything to Robert Hope, whose wife Elizabeth died age 57 in 1837 at Smallberry-green and he married again in 1838 to Ann dau of Francis Wayth and died in 1840 leaving everything to his widow Ann, who married Robert Rankine in 1842.

Godwin was taking out administration of his mother's effects and also of his older brother John Godwin's. Withers (qv) was the attorney at Holt in Norfolk near Godwin's family home. D C stood for Doctors Commons
