Henry Dibbin was baptised on 8.11.1772 son of Francis and Mary Dibbin at Thatcham, Berks. They kept an inn on the Bath Road. Francis Dibbin died in 1777 when Henry was young, and his mother married Edward Fromont. Fromont ran extensive coaching services from London to Bristol and Exeter and his stepson kept the inns at the London end. After his mother died in 1803, Dibbin defended a Chancery suit against his stepfather Fromont (Nat Arch C13/102/39 & C13/89/36). For his marriage see Jones, Louisa.
