Luther Edmonds born 1757 admitted to Vintners Co, father Nathaniel admitted 1745, buried 15.2.1833 Dorking, Surrey age 76 from Westcote. He married at St Nicholas Cole Abbey 13.10.1782 by license to Sarah Leighton formerly Cooper of Shoreditch widow, mother of Ann Cooper a minor. Their children bapt at Shoreditch, Sarah Speller 1783, Eunice 1786, Ann 1788, Mary Ann 1791, James 1793, Sarah 1794 all of Holywell St, Shoreditch. Their son Charles Byrne bapt St Dunstan i t West 1799 of Crane Court, Fleet Street. Law List 1790 Luther Edmonds Holywell St attorney. Luther Edmonds Holywell St Shoreditch £28 Land Tax 1797 (proprietor Leighton). Luther Edmonds solicitor at Crane Court till at least 1811.
The Luther Edmonds at Devonshire Street (thus a close neighbour of Lestourgeon and Page the first two members of this division) was probably not the one above 1757-1833 but was also an attorney in the Vintners Co. and somewhat younger. Law List 1792 and 1795 Luther Edmonds attorney 7 Devonshire St, Bishopsgate St. He paid Land Tax on a value of £17 there in 1793 and 1794. He took an apprentice Saml Lydall for 5 yrs from 13.2.1794 premium £5 witness Edmonds' clerk Hugh Robins. He was insured there SunFire 1795. In a 1796 trades directory he was named Luther Edmonds jun. attorney there, and in 1796 he voted from that address for the Lord Mayor, Lewes, Anderson and Lushington (and not for Pickett or Combe). A Luther Edmonds attorney was at 178 Bishopsgate Without in 1804, at New St Bishopsgate St in 1815, and at 19 Skinner St, Snow Hill in 1819. New Times 24.2.1823 recorded the death of Ann wife of Luther Edmonds of Skinner St aged 58 from a cancer on her tongue she had for 12 years. In 1825 the partnership of Luther Edmonds senr and junr solicitors of Skinner St was dissolved.
There was also a Luther Edmonds oil and colourman at 77 (later 73) Shoreditch in trades directories from 1791 to 1799.
