Not identified by a person record in the GD website, but the entry for the texts read by Godwin on 3.10.1808 and 21.2.1811 show that Alicia Lefanu whose work the Godwins published was the most likely. Joseph Farington met Joseph Lefanu 29.11.1800 (p1459) and mrs Lefanu 17.3.1811 (p3895) at Lestock Wilson's. Alicia's niece Alicia DNB 1791 - 1844+ was probably the Lefanu jr of 1823 and the Lefanu of 1825. There were three Le Fanu brothers alive until 1820 after the death of their brother Philip in 1795. Henry Le Fanu 1747-1821 married R B Sheridan's sister Elizabeth 1756-1837 in 1789 and Alicia junior was their daughter. Joseph Le Fanu 1743-1825 married R B Sheridan's sister Alicia 1753-1817 in 1781, they had children Henrietta born 1783 and Thomas Philip 1784-1845 who was father of the novelist Sheridan Le Fanu DNB 1814-1873. Peter Le Fanu 1749-1825 married R B Sheridan's cousin Frances Knowles whose nephew was the playwright James Sheridan Knowles DNB 1784-1862. Some of Joseph & Alicia's letters and papers, but probably for an earlier period, are at Cambridge University in King's College Archives
