Rev John Morley of Hampton Lucy, later vicar of Aylesbury, Bucks, will PCC 1842. He was admitted at Oriel College aged 16 in January 1780 son of Rev John of Elworthy Somerset, BA 1784 and had at least 15 children by his first wife Mary to whom he was already married when he became curate of Hampton Lucy in 1788. His diary 1797-1810 with many gaps is at Warwick Record Office (MI 142 and see card index) and is an important source of information on Samuel Parr which Warren Derry, author of Samuel Parr, The Whig Dr Johnson, was unable to locate. In 1806 like many of Dr Parr's friends, he subscribed as vicar of Wasperton to History & Antiquities of Stratford. Dr Parr mentioned " the Reverend and ingenious Mr Morley" and his daughter Susanna in his will (PCC 1825). Parr gave his opinion of Morley to Godwin in a letter of 1795 (Abinger c.2 f.130-1)
