The collected letters of Charles & Mary Lamb refer to Randal Norris librarian of the Inner Temple 1751-1827 who married Elizabeth Faint of Widford 1765? - 1843 in 1801. They were presumably the R & E Norris of 1823 and perhaps most of the others. Their elder daughter Jane married Arthur Tween of Widford. (Randle Nprris bachelor of Charlton, Kent will PCC 1804). The same work also refers to Philip Norris d.1806 builder and surveyor to Christ's Hospital and his wife Sally of Castle St Holborn as friends of Lamb. The 1797 entry may be neither Lamb's Norrises nor the Norwich ones, and may have been related to Godwin's plans for marriage and the change of living arrangements that entailed, see work notes below for some possibles. The Norrises at Rowan's might have been any or none of these.
