Samuel Percy 1750-1820 Dict British Sculptors born Dublin, in London from 1785, 1790 wax modeller of 31 St Martins Lane, RA 1803 exhibited portrait of Tooke, address 26 Millman Row Gt Chelsea, printer 1805 (bbti). He might also have been the Percy that Godwin called on in 1809, but two of the calls before and after Percy (Longman, Paternoster-row and Hunter, Ludgate-str) suggest someone in the neighbourhood of St Paul's. The play in 1807 is tagged as Author Unknown in GD website but this was Percy by Hannah More DNB 1745-1833 (see Morning Post 6.10.1807). Percy from 1826 on was Godwin's grandson Percy Shelley. The GD website has a person record for Joseph Clinton Robertson (pseudonym Sholto Percy) DNB 1788-1852 to which they have coded all the entries above from 1817 on but they are not very convinced of this identification, see their editorial notes and the little the DNB knows about him. See work notes below.
