Godwin contacted four of the addresses in the flyleaf of his diary in the few days after Burr's departure, so they were clearly contacts Burr had given him. David Meade Randolph died 27.9.1830 Williamsburg, Virginia born 1759 son of Richard & Mary. Revolutionary war officer, tobacco planter and slaveowner. Married 1780 Mary Randolph his cousin, children William Beverley, Richard, James, Thomas Mann, Lavinia & David Meade jr (1784-1825). Mrs Randolph is famous for her cookbook, she stayed in Virginia while her husband was in England. In 1809 David Randolph patented a boot making machine, and in 1818 back in Virginia he was working on an improved form of cement. The Godwin Diary website has wrongly transcribed the word Burr in 1812 above (as Br?im)
