The Edward Dawson of Donington Park was not the Edward Dawson of Paternoster Row. See Aris's Birmingham Gazette 28.10.1816: Died on Sunday the 13th inst at Donington Park (the seat of the Earl of Moira) after the long and faithful service of 60 years in the family of Hastings, Edward Dawson Esq in the 80th year of his age. Mr Dawson besides acting as steward for the late Earl of Huntingdon, and since for the Earl of Moira, was Returning Officer for the Borough of L|eicester upwards of 35 years, and also Standard-bearer to the Band of Gentleman Pensioners.
