James Dawson fruiterer of Covent Garden voted Hood 1788. voted Fox & Tooke 1790, orange merchant of same voted Fox & Graham 1802. His will PCC 13.3.1816 fruiterer of Covent Garden dated 28.12.1815 mentioned nephew and partner Francis Jones (who voted 1818 Burdett & Romilly as fruiterer of Covent Garden). Burial of James Dawson not found, he was likely the James Dawson bapt 19.12.1742 at Covent Garden of James & Mary but no records of marriage or children found. A James Dawson jr (perhaps his son?) insured Sun Fire 1810 fruiterer of 3 Russel Place, Bow Street & Covent Garden Market. Ratebooks for The Market show a James Dawson value £26 in 1797, 1810 and 1813-1820. Children of James & Elizabeth Dawson bapt Covent Garden 1800 to 1804 were probably of James Dawson jr.
