Presumably John Baseley later John Baseley Tooke (died in London 12.11.1841 JP of Thompson, Norfolk PCC 1842). His father John Green Baseley married 2.6.1778 Margaret (PCC 1840) sister of Col. William Harwood, their uncle William Tooke died in 1802 and left money to his nephew Col Harwood and his great nephew John Baseley. Baseley senior was alderman of Norwich 1787, sheriff 1789 and mayor in 1791 and a member of the Octagon congregation (Jewson p137). Was on committee of petition 23.11.1795. He was also listed as a merchant at 65 Old Broad St, London in partnership with Jeremiah Ives sr & jr, & Perez & Echalaz. He died of an apoplectic fit 29.11.1806. His son John Baseley Tooke was a Captain in the Western regiment of the Norfolk militia in 1804.
