Married 9.8.1764 St Anne Soho to Lucretia Mills (who died 8.11.1798) youngest dau of Matthew Mills of St Kitts and a granddaughter of Peter Soulegre, she had a son 26.10.1765 at their house in Bedford Row, their daus bapt 1767 Lucretia (born at their house in Harley St, Cavendish Sq and d. unmarried 10.12.1853 at Bath), 1769 Cornelia (d. unmarried 1847 at Bath), 1772 Maria. Mentioned in newspapers as a candidate for Surrey 1775, 1783. Chairman of Surrey Committee 1783. John Middleton DNB 1751-1833 bought an estate in 1787 from JSB "a naturalist". He was mentioned by George Humphrey in Transactions of Linnaean Socy vol 2 p 16 as "a gentleman very conversant in shells". His will PCC 6.9.1805 of Twickenham mentioned his late wife, daughters Lucretia, Cornelia and Maria and son Thomas.
