MILL VOTERS 1802: William Empson of Isleworth
The will PCC 1802 of John Masters Empson surgeon in Royal Navy written at the hospital in Martinique mentioned his father and mother William and Mary Empson resident in Isleworth, and his brother Empson. William Empson bach of Streatham married at St John Horslydown 30.9.1764 Mary Masters sp otp by lic, their dau Mary was baptised Streatham 1.8.1765. John M Empson was taken apprentice 1787 by Thomas Walker apothecary of Chipping Ongar, Essex.
Perhaps the brother or perhaps of a separate family was William Charles Empson son of William Empson gent of Peckham who was articled as an attorney in 1788, listed as an attorney in Marylebone in 1793 and at Croydon in 1799, married as bach at Lambeth 21.1.1804 Mary Ann Featherston sp of Isleworth by lic, confined in Kings Bench 1805. William Featherstonehaugh son of William Charles (attorney at law) & Mary Ann Empson was baptised 20.5.1814 Isleworth. William Charles Empson was indicted for a libel on John Russell at Leamington in 1837 (Warwickshire Quarter Sessions/5/72) and went bankrupt as a money scrivener there that year. He was also mentioned date 1823 at Bath Record Ofiice BC 134/64. He died in 1850
