Luntley (qv) was a surveyor at 62 Shoreditch, not far from Primrose Street where Godwin was managing property for the sisters of his first wife Mary Wollstonecraft. A James Hill and a Samuel Brooks (qv) both appeared in the ratebooks for Primrose St in 1803 and 1806, though as far as I can tell neither was a tenant of the houses (which I think were nos 12 to 20) which Godwin managed. Batty (qv) was tenant of no 12 from 1805. So there is good reason to think PS may have meant Primrose Street and the Hill entries above may have all been one person (and perhaps also her husband) called on in connection with that business. James Hill widower otp had married Ann Harris widow otp by banns at St Botolph Bishopsgate 7.6.1800, both signed with an x
