Nos 40 to 44 seem (for no reason I can understand) to have shifted up one number about 1786-88 to become Nos 41 to 45, while the Crispin remained No 39. However, Horwood's map which wasn't begun until 1791 showed the Pantheon entrance between 40 and 41, and showed 44 adjacent to the corner house (Coach & Horses) at 1 Gt Marlborough St and 45 adjacent to 55 Gt Marlborough St , the corner house on the other side of Gt Marlborough St, which corresponds I think to the pre-1787 numbering
