William Notcutt linendraper of Ipswich 1743-1809. His grandfather Rev William Notcutt born Whirgton, Somerset 1672, married Martha Payne (died 1755) and was minister at Tacket Street Meeting House, Ipswich from 1724 till his death on 17.7.1756. His father John Notcutt 1711-1778, his mother Susanna née Wilkinson (died 1785). He was baptised 18.1.1743 at Tackett St. His younger brothers John 1746-1795 and Thomas Foster 1752-1803. He married 16.6.1767 Susanna Hayward. He voted at Ipswich 1768, 1780, 1784, 1790. He subscr 1788 to Wm Gordon's America, 1790 to Wm Winterbottom's America, 1799 to Poems of Rev John Black. He was buried 8.10.1809 at the Ipswich Unitarian Meeting House. Ipswich Journal 25.11.1809 sale of his effects at his house in Butter Market. His son William Russell born 1774 was tutor in natural philosophy at New College, Hackney 1794 to 1796 and died of yellow fever at Surinam 25.4.1800. His sister Sarah Notcutt spinster will PCC 1812 dated 15.2.1812 mentioned her nieces Hannah Jane Alger, Sarah Wilkinson Notcutt, Ann Notcutt, Martha wife of George Greeve, and Harriet wife of George Errington, her late niece Mary Halden Tremlett, and her nephews John Notcutt and Stephen Abbott Notcutt
