William Waller (died 1829) the father of Augustus Volney Waller DNB 1816-1870 his will PCC 1830 dated 25.12.1829 of Faversham, Kent but now of Nice in the Kingdom of Sardinia mentioned his wife Jessie, his brother Thomas Waller of Chapel House near Faversham and his sons Augustus & William. Augustus was born 9.11.1816 and baptised at Preston nr Faversham on 11.12.1833. William Waller bachelor married Jessie Eagle spinster by banns at St Mary Lambeth on 28.5.1818. The delays before marriage and baptism and the middle name Volney all suggest that Waller was a freethinker. He was also apparently a model farmer, see the adverts for the sale of "the famous and well known" Elverton Manor Farm "suited to a wealthy and spirited agriculturist" in the Standard & the Morning Post in November 1838. He was probably most of the entries above, clearly not the last one which may have been his son Augustus as may thee previous entry in 1825. Mrs Waller in 1824 may have been his wife Jessie, and Fred Waller in 1811 may have been Frederick Waller stationer of Fleet St will PCC 1846. The first entry in 1798 is separated from the next by ten years so there is no reason to suppose it was William Waller, Some other Wallers are listed in the work notes below
