James (Flint?) Weeding of Furnivals Inn Holborn will PCC 26.2.1818 dated 6.4.1814 mentioned wife Susan dau Susannah sons Thomas & Benjamin. James W was farmer then steward of Furnivals Inn. He married Susanna Jones 31.12.1811 St Martin in the Fields. His son Benjamin Alum Cantab born 20.3.1799 died 23.2.1829, Benjamin Wm bapt St Leonard Shoreditch 18.3.1803 son of James & Susanna, Alum Cant born 20.3.1799 died 23.2.1829. (According to an Ancestry user submitted tree, James's father Thomas died 4.3.1804 aged 81, his mother Mary nee Flint, his brother Thomas 1760-1858; or perhaps their father was James married Jane Legg Richmond Surrey 25.4.1771, their sons Thos bapt 31.10.1774 James bapt 2.12.1775 both at Kingston, Surrey). Thomas W London merchant and East India Coy agent in William Jardine DNB 1784-1843. Holdens 1811 Thomas W 96 Guildford St, Russell Sq, Thos W married Sarah McCallum of Finsbury Sq at St Pancras 26.2.1811, he chaired City stockholders and bondholders meetings, was Governor of Christ's Hospital in 1836, stood unsuccessfully as MP for Penryn 1827 1nd 1831, apparently on a pro-reform ticket, wrote letter to paper 1833 saying he'd been misrepresented as pro-slavery, stood as Tory for Berwick 1841, magistrate for Surrey 1843. A Thos W married Sarah Edwards at Newington St Mary 21.10.1777.
