The first entry above is transcribed Da[-rn?]al in GD website. The original is hard to read but in the light of the three Derville entries following it was probably Darval. Robert Dupont Derval was a Major in the York Rangers from 26.12.1796 until 1797. He was named as a defendant in a Chancery cause in 1807 to 1809 Timothy Stansfeld (will PCC 1829 obit of Feld House, New Cross in 75th year) vs Augustus Bultler Danvers (qv), Robert D'Ervall (abroad), John King, Jane Countess of Lanesborough, James Stevenson (qv) &c (National Archives C13/83/16, C13/94/26, C13/95/5, C13/95/19, C13/108/22, C13/108/28). I have not had time to read these bills, they were preceded by another cause Danvers vs Stansfield & Stevenson. It is hard to work out what was going on, some of these causes could have been "friendly" ones. Having a key witness abroad could be an effective way of delaying a cause
