On 3.1.1791 William Smith coachmaker of Margaret St, Marylebone and James Smith of Marshall St Carnaby Market fruiterer bailed Edward Brown of Castle St East who had been arrested as reputed father of Catherine Chittenden's child not yet born as declared by her on 29.12.1790 and on 26.10.1791 the overseers of the poor for Marylebone swore Edward Brown had paid the parish all expenses. Harriet Brown dau of Edward Brown and Catherine Chittenden was born 7.7.1791 and bapt 18.7.1791 St Marylebone. 3 children named Harriet Brown were buried at St Marylebone on 16.1.1795, 18.7.1798 and 23.12.1805. 2 adults called Edward Brown were buried there on 16.12.1791 and 25.2.1794. William Morley (his mark) otp = 1.5.1808 at St James Clerkenwell by banns Catharine Chittenden. See also Brown, Catherine and Brown, Elizabeth.
