Ann O"Hara ratebooks 52 Poland St 1782 / (news) she died 26.3.1782 Poland St / her will PCC 1784 dated 11.10.1781 mentioned her two nephews Charles & George O'Hara mulatto boys born at Senegal, sons to brother Charles O"Hara. On 19.6.1784 Jemima O'Hara spinster of St Geo Han Sq swore to her handwriting but admon was granted to Thomas King a creditor. Anne & Jemima O'Hara were two natural (i.e.illegitimate) daughters of James O'Hara, baron Tyrawley DNB 1681/2-1773, and Charles O'Hara DNB c.1740-1802 was their brother. Their mother may have been Portuguese as their father was British envoy in Lisbon from 1728 to 1741 and according to Horace Walpole brought back 3 wives and 14 children..Charles O'Hara's will PCC 1802 dated 7.12.1799 mentioned four natural children but not the two mulatto boys. The will PCC 1802 of Charles O'Hara of Stockwell Common, Lt 34th Foot, may have been one of the mulatto boys or they may have both died before their father's will.
