Francis Fox bapt 15.9.1759 St Werburgh's Derby of Francis & Dorothy Fox. Francis Fox = Egginton, Derbyshire 17.6.1755 Dorothy Hunt. Francis Fox appr 1775 to John Meynell surgeon of Derby. Francis Fox surgeon of Derby took apprs 1785, 1788, 1797. Marriage settlement of Francis Fox surgeon of Derby and Charlotte dau of Archibald Douglas, they married at St Oswald, Ashbourne, Derbyshire on 22.1.1794. Isabella another dau of Archibald Douglas married Joseph Strutt (DNB 1765-1844) whose sister Martha Strutt married Samuel Fox (QV*), perhaps a cousin of Francis Fox. Archibald Douglas died 16.2.1796 and was buried 20.2.1796 at Friar Gate, Derby, his will PCC 1798 merchant of Ashbourne formerly of London dated 10.10.1794 mentioned another daughter Susanna Cooper. Isabella Strutt was buried at Friar Gate 29.11.1802 with her infant daughter Georgiana. Francis & Charlotte Fox baptised children at St Werburgh's Derby up until 1811. Jackson's Oxford Journal 16.9.1826 at Derby, Ambrose Moore Esq = Harriet eldest dau of Francis Fox M.D.. Derby Mercury 18.9.1833 on 13th inst died Mr Francis Fox M.D. in his 74th year. Francis Fox buried St Werburgh's Derby 18.9.1833
