Edward Hall was the son of John Hall staymaker of Preston, Lancs and his wife Margaret. His sister Margaret married at Preston 10.6.1758 William Hardman, the marriage bond dated 8.6.1758 signed by William Hardman, attorney's clerk and John Hall staymaker both of Preston. Edward's father may have been the John Hall who was buried at St George's, Preston 26.1.1780. Edward Hall Esq was buried 7.1.1798 St Paul Covent Garden aged 48 so may have been the Edward son of John Hall baptised at Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancs on 10.3.1750 but the above mentioned tree gives a birth date of 2.2.1747 for him. He was apprenticed 1.12.1761 for 6 years to William Pritchard appothecary of Preston premium £48. He married at St Martin i t Fields 19.12.1773 Elizabeth Crompton botp by lic wits Benjn & Geo Crompton. Edward Hall of St Martin i t Fields apothecary took appr 1779 Benjn Hillard. World 17.7.1788 Edward Hall Secretary to Whig Club. His aunt Ann Hall married at Walton-le-Dale, Lancs 1.4.1733 Thomas Yates both of Little Harwood by banns. Thomas Yates was mentioned in Betty Hall's will PCC 1796 as a cotton manufacturer of Manchester so was probably the Thomas Yates cotton merchant of 2 Cheapside House, 12 Cooper St in Manchester directory. His uncle William Hall will PCC 1773 of Bristol formerly drysalter wife Betty, his uncle Robert Hall died 1770 (from the above tree) and his half-uncle Hon. Charles Hall of Jamaica was baptised Preston 1.1.1730 and died in Jamaica 1795. Edward Hall also had a brother Charles of Saratoga, Jamaica 1751-1797 (from the above tree)
