His father was Patrick Hepburn tanner of Chesham, Bucks whose will PCC 16.6.1819 dated 31.12.1804 mentioned his sons John, George & William Patrick and his dau Philippa widow of Thomas Shrimpton (she married him in 1785, her later married name Miller), and his dau in law Elizaberth Davis. The will PCC 21.7.1820 dated 28.10.1819 of his son William Patrick Hepburn leather currier of Chesham mentioned his brother John of Long Lane Southwark. An Ancestry user-submitted tree gives Philip Hepburn's wife's name as Sarah Kingston but a Philip Hepburn married Sarah Okey at Chesham Bois 7.6.1753. He married 2ndly in 1805 Rachael Pile
