HCR diary 7.4.1834  call on Aders "Miss Reilly there and from Norwich"

                 26.6.1834 call at Aders "I found the Reileys with Mr A: (Mrs A: being from home). These are seemingly a great comfort to the A: and Miss R: is a very sweet girl"

                 11.7.1834 at the Opera House "where in the Concert Room was the performance - There came into Mrs Jaffray's box Mrs Masquerier and Mrs Aders and Miss Riley - 2 friends of Mrs J's were there"  "I accompanied Mrs Aders and Miss Riley home"

                 18.3.1835 call at Aders "I found them in trouble - Mrs Riley their neighbour last night attempted her life - a shocking incident. Miss R: is a very interesting girl - I hope the future wife of James Gilman"

James Gilman = Feb 1837 Sophia Riley at British Embassy, Paris. She was born c.1816 in New South Wales dau of Alexander Riley, his will PCC 1834 of Euston Square. Morning Post 6.6.1832 the Gold Isis medal of the Society of Arts to Alexander Riley, esq for importing to New South Wales a flock of Angola Cashmere goats. He married Sarah Sophia Hardwick at St George the Martyr Southwark on 30.10.1803 just before sailing to Australia, returning in 1817. Despite her suicide attempt, his widow lived till 24.5.1864
