9.3.1806 dine at Wimbledon [Tooke's} w. col. Stuart / 13.7.1806 dine at Nicholson's; adv. col Stuart & C[om]be
June 1804 Ireland Lt Col James Alexander Stuart only son of Lt Gen James Stuart c-in-c of forces in Madras (DNB d.1793) married Letitia 7th daughter of Colonel Irvine of Castle Irvine, Fermanagh / Col Stuart was on half pay of 20th foot from 1805 to 1813 and buried 5.3.1813 St James Westmr age 43 / Holdens 1811 LtĀ Col I A Stuart, 6 Charles-st, Berkeley-sq & Atwick-pl, Bognor / SunFire 1809 Letitia wife of Col J A Stuart, 6, Charles-st, Berkeley-sq / the will PCC 22.3.1794 of his father James Stuart mentioned only one child Jane Stuart, illegitimate daughter of Mary Thomson living in India. (His DNB article says he had a wife who died young and without issue). I found no evidence to show Col Stuart may have mixed in radical circles but he seems to have been the only Col Stuart (as opposed to Stewart) in Army lists at that time
