Clapham (DNB 1761?-1824) / John Whitford haberdasher 95 Charlotte-st, Oxford-rd / Jno Whitford surgeon's instrument maker, cutler &c, Bartholomew's Hospital & 27 Lombard-st (ad in London Courier 20.11.1809 J Whitford Truss Maker to the City Truss Society for thr Relief of the Ruptured Poor for his new invented Serpentine Curved Elastic Steel Trusses at his manufactory under the central hospital gate West Smithfield) his will PCC 1817 / Samuel Whitford silversmith 15 Denmark-court, Strand / Samuel Whitford academy, 1, Long-la, Borough(will PCC 1826) / Whitford & son, watchmakers & jewellers, 1 Smithfield Bars (same as Thomas & George Whitford silversmiths SunFire 1810) Thomas' will PCC 1823 / William Whitford, tailor, 11 Hop-gdns, Bedfordbury. In the Court section were Edward Esq (same address as Helena above) and a Mr E, a Mr Thos, a Miss and two Mrs. There was also a G Whitford, clerk of the House of Commons (not in Holdens).

My guess would be the Smithfield silversmiths, a trade that often acted as bankers, and the nearest Whitford, along with the truss maker, to Godwin at Skinner-st
