Franklin, Hertford was probably the Rev Frederick William Franklin 1774-1836 exhibitioner at Christs Hospital, BA 1797 Pembroke Hall Cambridge, married Mary Symonds 1797, taught at Mr Newcombe's academy, Hackney, grammar master at Christ's Hospital, Hertford 1801-1827, chaplain of Hertford gaol 1815-1827, vicar of Albrighton, Shropshire from 1827 and chaplain to Earl Talbot from 1828.

Joseph Carrington Ridgway, nephew Denham F attorney of Cork, nephew John F of Plymouth, Maria Mudd niece of Mrs F, Francis Mudd, Ellen Parsloe Winnington, servant Charlotte Ashfield & her sisiter Mrs Freake) journalist and dramatist mentioned in will PCC 1811 of David Evans Macdonnell. Macdonnell had recommended him as his successor in editorship of the Gazetteer newspaper in 1796 (Robert L Haig, The Gazetteer p251). See McDonnell, Street, Ridgway.
