William Bird Brodie 1780-1863 bookseller Salisbury with John Dowding and John Luxford. He was Whig MP for Salisbury 1832 to 1843. When Godwin visited Salisbury in 1812 he saw Dowding and Luxford but not Brodie. The two sets of visits in London in 1814 and 1819 were probably him but could have been a different Brodie
