A letter from Maurice Margarot in Edinburgh to the London Corresponding Society received 26.12.1793 introduced the bearer William Moffatt (Thale) so he had only been in London a week when Godwin met him. Private agent for Muir and Palmer (Barrell & Mee, Treason Trials vol 5). William Moffatt of Charles St, Edinburgh was the Edinburgh office of the Courier newspaper 1799-1800
