The entries above in bold seem to refer to distinct Andersons: 24.8.1804 was William Anderson fl.1797-1832 who wrote Iniquity of Banking which Godwin read on 15 & 16.1.1797 / 8.11.1804 probably referred to text te1519 Godwin was studying at the British Museum /  26.5.1817 Anderson (Pershore) - there are some births and marriages of Andersons at Pershore / 10.5.1823 Anderson (bookseller) may be William Anderson bookseller of 184 Piccadilly. "Dr Anderson" wasn't noted in the diary till 20.11.1796, but his position in the 1796 list suggests he was the Anderson & sons at Miss Godwin's on 30.9.1795. He was probably James Anderson DNB 1739-1808, author of Recreations in Agriculture and the magazine The Bee. Three of his sons were Alexander b.1769, George 1773 - 1817  & John DNB b.1775. George Anderson's will PCC 1817 of St Martins Lane Cannon St merchant & ships chandler, brother Alexander Seton (he changed his name on receiving an inheritance from his mother's family) brother James Anderson partner Charles Laing (see Laing, Charles) dated 22.3.1815. Morning Chronicle 15.1.1817 died 10.1.at West Ham from a fall from a gig, Fellow of Linnaean Society, deep botanical research. This family seem to account for 20.7.1795 and all Andersons between 18.9.1795 and 4.4.1797. All the Anderson entries at King's referred, I presume, to someone else, due to there being two entries in the 1796 list. This was possibly the person referred to in Thomas Martyn's "King of the Swindlers" (1798) as Jack An-r-n not long out of clerkship c.1781 Jack A-d-n "attorney-general to frail sisterhood" and master of ceremonies at the "hop" in Queen St, Golden Square c.1783. This hop was also referrred to in Harris's List of Covent Garden Ladies. Between the two appearances at King's, and before Godwin seems to have met Dr James Anderson, Godwin was three times at his, and he called on Godwin three times. Though an attorney/pimp might not be an unexpected visitor at King's, such a friendship with Godwin might seem a little surprising. Of course, Martyn's description of him might have been malicious. There was a John Anderson attorney Oxford St in Law List 1782 at Broad St Carnaby Market in 1790 and at Golden Square 1792 to 1799, and a James Anderson attorney in Marylebone from 1792 to 1799.  It's also interesting that after meeting the other Andersons Godwin seems to have seen no more of him, though this is all very speculative
