This should be added on GD website to the person record of John Gawler (John Bellenden Ker DNB 1764-1832) who took the name of Bellenden Ker on 5.11.1804

Acot 8.6.1805 at Jo(seph) G(odwin)'s

Godwin's brother Joseph was at one time a carpet salesman and Godwin had met John Smith of 13 Primrose St (qv) auctioneer and appraiser at his brother's. So this could well have been Christopher Acott appraiser 80 Barbican (Holdens 1807) apprenticed to Roger Tuff citizen & founder 1803, as son of William Acott carpenter & broker Southgate Middlesex (Sun Fire 1792). The only other Acott I found among London tradesmen of the time was Thomas Acott shoemaker 164 Oxford St (Sun Fire 1792)

Perhaps John Watkins DNB fl1786-1831 whose Universal Biographical & Historical Dictionary was printed in 1800 for Richard Phillips, a second edition came out in 1808

In Godwin's letter to James Wollstonecraft of 5.9.1805 (Bodleian Abinger c9 f34v) he wrote "Ball I have got rid of by the intervention of the Lord Mayor". Ball (qv) was a tenant of Primrose Street and Godwin saw him on 23.1.1805 and 1,2,1805, both before James Wollstonecraft last saw Godwin before leaving for the West Indies. The Lord Mayor of London in 1804/5 was Peter Perchard, it's not clear if Godwin would have spoken to him personally. The Lord Mayor in 1816/7 was Matthew Wood.

miss Coutts 16.5.1805 at Wake's

All three daughters of Thomas Coutts DNB 1735-1822 banker were married by 1800, I don't think he had any sisters. His brother James Hist of Parl 1733-1778 left one survivng daughter but I have discovered nothing more about her. PCC wills Patrick C 1808 (brother of Thomas DNB) Alexander Coutts merchant Princes St London 1804 / William C Harewood House, Yorks 1814 /  John C printer Cornhaill 1825 / Ann C spinster of Kensington 1855 mentioned uncle George C of Wellington Somerset (his will PCC 1852)
