Edward Paul Pilcher 1763-1826 had married Mary Jane Godwin's sister Sophia in 1792. It was eight years after Godwin's second marriage that the Pilchers first visited the Godwins (according to the diary). The Pilcher children later became frequent callers on the Godwins.

Possibly Isaac Innes Pocock DNB 1782-1835 who as a playwright like Poole would have been in context at Poole's two theatrical gatherings. Godwin first noted Poole at the theatre the night after he first called on Pocock

Daniel Terry DNB 1789-1829 actor and playwright. The 1829 entry above is written very faintly and probably meant Terry dies but Godwin uncertain of date?

These must have been the famous Elgin marbles which Thomas Bruce 7th Earl of Elgin DNB 1766-1841 was still trying to get the nation to buy. His address was Piccadilly on the corner of Park-lane

Tollemache

In 1824 Joseph Hume's daughter Matilda married the Hon. Hugh Francis Manners Tollemache 1802-1890 who became rector of Harrington, Northants, where the Rectory was next to the Tollemache Arms pub. Their son Ralph 1826-1905 appears in the DNB as a "bestower of eccentric names"

Bunnett

Amelia, 1794-1861, eldest daughter of Joseph Hume married 17.5.1823 William Bunnett, of Fulham, surgeon. They had a son William Thomas Hume Bunnett. I couldn't find William Bunnett's death but Amelia was living with her father Joseph in 1841 census and listed as widow living with her son in 1851 census

Godwin went to Ashbourne, probably to see the poet Thomas Moore, but finding him out tried to find Sir Brooke Boothby DNB 1744-1824 poet and writer of Ashbourne Hall

This should be added on GD website to the person record for Thomas Moore DNB 1779-1852 poet. He was then living at Mayfield Cottage, Ashbourne and Godwin on his return journey from Edinburgh via Manchester went to Ashbourne presumably mainly to see Moore
