Merton College, Oxford 1789 age 18, BA 1793. Fellow of Merton and vicar of various parishes. Died 28.2.1823 at Lloyd's, bookseller of Harley St, of apoplectic fit. Maurice 26.11.1794 at Parr's / 5.4.1796 at Mackintosh's / 2.4.1813 at Museum.
Thomas Maurice DNB 1754-1824 as he was Dr Parr's pupil, his anti-Jacobin politics would not have excluded him from Parr's or Mackintosh's table. At Hatton Parr dined with the local Tories; Hewerdine is another example of an enthusiastic anti-radical Godwin sometimes met. There was also Michael Maurice DNB 1766-1855 dissenting minister who was evening preacher at Hackney in 1792 and married Priscilla Hurry in 1794, but in all three contexts Godwin saw Maurice, Thomas seems more likely

Surely Granville Sharp DNB 1735-1813. In Godwin's 1796 list for 1790 he put Rd Sharpe, then Gram (crossed out). There are two Sharpe entries in 1790, one on 15.3.1790 at Brand Hollis' and one on 4.11.1790 at the Revolution Society, where Sharpe was one of the supporters of Horne Tooke's motion against the nobility, along with Cooper and Favell. One of them must have been Richard Sharp as the 1796 list made clear, and probably both were.
