SWEDENBORGIANS: Intellectual Repository 1826/7 p 425 obituary of Major General W Fawcett "among the earliest readers of the writings of Swedenborg in this country; having first met with them, probably through the channel of a public advertisement, about the year 1780." But not a "receiver" of the doctrines till 1811. and then, according to this obituary, his family also adopted them and he held them till his death on 1.10.1826.

The will PCC 1802 of John Masters Empson surgeon in Royal Navy written at the hospital in Martinique mentioned his father and mother William and Mary Empson resident in Isleworth, and his brother Empson. William Empson bach of Streatham married at St John Horslydown 30.9.1764 Mary Masters sp otp by lic, their dau Mary was baptised Streatham 1.8.1765. John M Empson was taken apprentice 1787 by Thomas Walker apothecary of Chipping Ongar, Essex.
