Might be a plural, Cumber is commoner than Cumbers, but Cumbers not very rare either.

First entry might be a plural of Bate, both Bate and Bates are common names. Rev William Bates of Bridgnorth, born 1775. William Bates will PCC 1850 surgeon of 20 George St Surrey

Kyan

Kyan 16.8.1800 on post coach Chirk to Shrewsbury

Perhaps John Howard Kyan DNB 1774-1850, his father John Howard Kyan of Mount Howard, Ballymutagh, co. Wicklow who died 1804, or Esmonde Kyan DNB 1750-1798. Not everyone Godwin met accidentally got into the DNB but a remarkable number did and Kyan is not a very common name even in Ireland

Robert Waring Darwin 1766-1848 in his son Charles Darwin DNB 1809-1882 lived at Shrewsbury where Godwin had slept the night before. The GD website has coded this entry to Erasmus Darwin, his father, who lived in Derby

Lady (Charlotte) Eleanor Butler DNB 1739-1829. Godwin's letter to James Marshall (Bodleian Abinger c6 f37v) explained that he had an introduction from Mrs Grattan to the 'ladies of Llangollen'
