Burgh 12.3.1795 at Gerald's.

Rev Richard Burgh of Dublin aged 30 was convicted in 1793 along with Townley Macan and others of a conspiracy to blow up the King's Bench prison. He doesn't seem to have been in Newgate in 1795 but may have been an inmate of the Giltspur St Compter with Gerald

Williams, Miss

8.3.1795 miss Williams at Foulkes / 7.4.1795 again / 25.2.1796 mrs Wood & Williams at Foulkes' / mss Williams 18.5.1796 at miss Mansel's.

Possibly Martha Roper Williams daughter of Robert Williams ("formerly of Charleston South Carolina Counsellor at Law now of London" will PCC 1808). She exhibited at Royal Academy 1793 and lived at 30 Lambs Conduit St, so near to Foulkes'. She married at St Andrew Holborn 16.12.1803 Richard Wrangham merchant (will PCC 1832). Unlikely to be Helen Maria Williams who was probably in France.

8.3.1795 Young at Foulkes' / 28.9.1795 sup at mrs Johnston's, w. miss G(odwin); Young & Campbel / 18.10.1797 at Carlisle's / 12.12.1804 at Johnson's

I can't see now why I suggested Thomas Young DNB 1773 - 1829 for the above four entries, except that he was a surgeon who would have known Carlisle, and an interesting thinker who might have been at Johnson's. (Oct 1794 to Edinburgh, toured Scotland summer 1795, to Gottingen 1795 dissertation Gottingen July 1796, resided 6 terms at Cambridge 1797-9, "appears to have spent as much time as possible in London")
