Davies 10.11.1793 at Perry's / Davies 23.1.1795 at John King's was probably William 'Black' Davis (QV*) spelt differently on first encounter as so often in Godwin's diary. Jean Pierre Duport 1741-1818 French cellist (Grove) Rather than the cellist this is likely to have been the politician Adrien Jean Francois Duport 1759-1798 an associate of Lameth (see Lameth, Charles) who escaped to England about September 1792 (Dictionnaire de Biographie Francaise). He is also mentioned in Brightwell: Amelia Opie p56
