1801 at Nicholson's may have been John Mitchell DNB 1785-1859 army officer and writer, as the DNB states "In 1801 he was sent to a mathematical school in London taught by a Mr Nicholson".

Edward & William Otter (Alum Cant) both fellows of Jesus college Cambridge in 1797, Edward was vicar of All Saints Cambridge in 1797, William was nearer in age to Basil Montagu, who had been a student at Cambridge, and with whom Godwin was travelling round England in a chaise

sisters of the deceased Caroline Matilda nee Want, Basil Montagu's (DNB 1770-1851) first wife. They were daughters of Robert Want of the Temple (attorney who died Nov 1777 at his house in Fetter Lane) and his wife Eden will PCC 1782 widow. By 1787 Henrietta was married to the Rev Charles Holworthy and Cassandra to Robert Godby. Elizabeth had married Rev John Smith by 1802 (and probably by 1797). Catherine Eden Want will PCC 1811, Charlotte Want will PCC 1803, and Arabella were all unmarried in 1797

Admiral Robert Montagu 1763-1830 will PCC 1830, elder brother of Basil Montagu & son of 4th Earl of Sandwich by Martha Ray, married 10.5.1786 at St Margaret's Westminster, Mary Elizabeth dau of Edward L'Epine merchant of Gt George St will PCC 1788. Her husband was probably absent on naval service at the time

Samuel Parr had vanished from Hatton to give space to his newly Gretna Green married daughter Sarah and his son-in-law John Wynne. Wynne's younger brother Julius was 15 years old at the time. See Godwin's letter Abinger c40 f182-3. The 1797 entry should also be coded to Sarah Parr's person record on GD website
